The Conga from Santiago is a carnival rhythm, “Comparsa”. It was created more than a century ago spontaneously with the development of the carnival itself.

The peculiarity of this rhythm is in the execution of the bells. As Rolando explains, one of the bells does the Rumba clave, a second one has to do with the Mozambique melodies and a third one with Brazilian Samba melodies.
Some melodies on the timbal and also three types of bass drums are performed.
